The entire season will be on the line for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
If the Warriors lose, it’ll be time for them to start their summer break, and if they win, they still have a slight chance of moving on to the Western Conference Finals.
With the stakes so high, the Warriors would be elated to see Stephen Curry back in uniform and ready to play.
Sadly, they will not witness that.
Speaking with ESPN, Draymond Green said there is no pressure on Curry to come back, and he knows they will be without him for Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“No, we’re not going to Superman this thing,” Green said when asked if he expects Curry to try to push to come back, and if so, would Green be a part of that conversation. “If he’s in a place where he can play, I’m sure he will. We don’t need [Curry to try to be] Superman. Got to play the long game. If he can, we know he will. But there’s no pressure. We’ve got to figure out how to win whether he plays or not.”
The Warriors are down 3-1 in the series, so Game 5 could be their last game of the season.
They have only won a single game in this round, and that was the sole match when Curry played.
Since then, the Timberwolves have consistently found ways to win, even with some strong, if inconsistent, efforts from the Warriors.
The final score on Monday was 117-110, and many Warriors fans couldn’t help but wonder how it would have been if Curry was suited up and in the rotation.
If Golden State can pull out a win on Wednesday, it’ll give Curry a few more days to rest and rehab.
So, does that mean he could be back for Game 6?
That is the hope, because it’s clear he isn’t going to be ready for Game 5.
Once again, the Warriors will be without their lead star, and many are afraid it’ll cost them the season.
